NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans have added a familiar face to the roster in defensive lineman Kyle Peko. Peko was added to replace defensive lineman Shakel Brown who was injured against the Chicago Bears and placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
Peko spent time with the Titans in 2021 and played in eight games with the team. Peko put up two sacks, two tackles for loss and forced a fumble. He was solid against the run and surprisingly effective in the pass rush.

Peko moved on from the Titans and spent the 2022 season with the Las Vegas Raiders. Playing in eight games. Peko will be fighting for a roster spot once again in Nashville as the defensive line group is far from settled for the Titans.
Peko will be asked to come in and play on the interior, primarily as a nose tackle. He will be asked to physically against the run and hold up blockers. This is something Peko was able to execute for the Titans before.
To make way for the returning Peko, Brown will head to injured reserve. The nature of Brown's injury is not confirmed at this time, but Brown did leave Saturday's game early with an ankle injury. Going on injured reserve during the preseason will likely end Brown's season.
The Tennessee Titans also activated safety Josh Thompson from the physically-unable-to-perform list. Thompson played in six games for the Titans last year, playing exclusively on special teams where he registered 83 snaps.
Thompson was already accounted for on a the 90-man roster being on the PUP list, so his activation does not require any corresponding move to make space on the roster. Thompson will now compete at a safety position where the Titans need more depth before the regular season kicks off.
