Audi prospect Nico Hulkenberg in talks with multiple teams for 2025
Lucas Peltier-USA TODAY Sports

Nico Hulkenberg is considered a prime candidate for AudI for the German manufacturer’s F1 entry in 2026. Hulkenberg is rumored to be interested in leaving Haas for a new team for next year. Hence, the German driver has revealed that he is in talks with ‘multiple teams’ and not just Audi.

Nico Hulkenberg had recently hinted how he wouldn’t be able to drive in one of the top teams. However, now the 36-year-old has not declined his talks with multiple teams. Hulkenberg mentioned that it was still early to finalize a team in the coming season. But, the German driver did mention that the ‘balls have started rolling’ in terms of his talks with multiple other teams.

You know, personally, I think it’s still kind of early doors in the season, but I think balls have started rolling in different places. Nico Hulkenberg said, as reported by planetf1.com.

However, Hulkenberg made it clear that he was in no rush to finalize a team any time soon. The 36-year-old has time on his hands as a majority of the drivers’ lineup will open up by 2025. Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz‘s chances at Audi are one of the hot topics recently. Regardless, the upcoming weekends will be interesting for the German driver in Formula 1.

I think it’s [a] pretty interesting couple of weeks ahead. But personally, I’m in no big rush, you know, that I need to have it done tomorrow. Nico Hulkenberg noted.

Ralf Schumacher claims Haas not a good prospect for Nico Hulkenberg

Haas has showcased decent improvement in performance since the previous season. The American constructor even scored their first double points since Austria 2022 at the Australian GP. However, Ralf Schumacher believes that the German driver should try his hands elsewhere in the coming season. Schumacher highlighted that Haas didn’t have a structure and didn’t have promising prospects in the coming season.

No, certainly not. Haas is certainly a great team and everything will get better there, but the structure isn’t there and doesn’t look towards the future either. Ralf Schumacher told Sky Deutschland.

Apart from this, Schumacher pointed towards the pending investments from the team. The 48-year-old asserted that Gene Haas had different plans with the team. Subsequently, the Ex-F1 driver highlighted that the Haas F1 team would be a good learning point for newcomers in the sport like Oliver Bearman.

Investments are pending but are not being made because Gene Haas has other ideas. It’s a nice, small team for newcomers like Oliver Bearman. Ralf Schumacher noted.

The Haas F1 team has been showcasing promising results already. The team is well put in the constructors’ championship and might score a much better finish than the 2023 season. However, it seems that the American squad will fail to convince Nico Hulkenberg for an extension as the German continues to look at other options.
