'I’m 34 and Fernando Alonso is 65,' Valtteri Bottas makes candid revelation about his F1 career longevity goals

Bottas is immensely impressed with the career trajectory of the Aston Martin F1 driver.

I don't have a number, in terms of years, because I don't see my time in F1 ending any time soon. So, I am now 34, and Fernando Alonso is 65 (laughs), so he is a pretty good reference that you can still perform. Valtteri Bottas said at the Adelaide festival

Since joining the Stake, Bottas has somewhat moved away from the limelight he was in during his time with Mercedes. He is currently in his last season with the Hinwii-based F1 team.

Valtteri Bottas is determined to race at the ‘front’ once again

While Valtteri Bottas has revealed that he does not see himself moving away from F1 anytime soon, like his Mercedes days, he wants to fight at the front end of the grid once again. Since joining Sauber, Bottas has been tussling in the lower midfield.

He believes that he has the motivation to be at the front and is thus, willing to be a part of the Audi project. The German brand recently took over Sauber and appointed Andreas Seidl as the CEO.

I definitely want to be here for some successful years, the goal and motivation now is to try and get back closer to the front somehow. Valtteri Bottas said in an interview with Planet F1

The Finn knows a thing or two about racing against the top dogs, and keeping his wealth of experience in view, he could prove to be a major asset in Audi’s charge toward the front end of the grid. However, for all of this to be a reality, Bottas will be required to put in a strong 2024 campaign and secure a contract extension.
